So I keep reading all of these wonderful posts about how much everyone loves summertime. While I enjoy various aspects of summer (swimming, hanging out at the beach, vacations, etc.) I do not enjoy the heat. I am so over it. That's what living in the desert will do to you. I went running this morning at 5:00 a.m. and it was 90 degrees outside and humid (well humid for here). Needless to say I thought I was going to die!
Good thing I didn't die running this morning, otherwise Mr. ESPN would have to pack for the girls (just imagine - red shirt orange skirt, striped top and polka dot shorts). The girls and I are headed back east on Saturday ... The in-laws are picking us up and the girls are going to spend a week with them while I work in NJ (they live about an hour away in PA). Mr. ESPN will be home enjoying the peace and quiet (and hopefully cleaning and doing some other small projects) for a week before flying out to meet us.
Guess what ... they are having an extreme heat wave on the east coast (well pretty much everywhere) right now. So much for my infinite wisdom and planning this work trip/vacay for us to cool off a bit!
I'll be back later - if I don't melt!

Memorial Day Weekend
First and foremost thanks to all of our active duty and retired military! We appreciate everything you do for our country! Thanks to my brother who is currently serving and all of the men in my family who have served - we love you!
We have been enjoying the summer weather and relaxing with family and friends. There has been a lot of swimming, Jimmy Buffet, grilling, cold beverages, etc. this weekend! Nana and Poppa came over on Friday night for Nana's birthday dinner ...
Mr. ESPN found the 6 candle ... not sure why he didn't get some plain candles ... this was the girls (Chatty) singing Happy Birthday to my mom. I think Bia sort of thought it was her birthday and just smiled.
Yesterday we had our neighbor's birthday party ... we all had a great time. It's so nice having such great neighbors! As I mentioned before I volunteered to make the birthday cake. It was my first time using fondant - it was so much fun. Thanks to Sara and the Kingston Queen for encouraging me to try it out. I loved using it!
Can you tell what it is???
The birthday boy and Goggle Girl
Uncle Greg, his mom and sister went to Hawaii the other week. His mom saw the following outfits and bought them for the girls. Can you say too freakin' cute? My mom and I were laughing hysterically as Chatty danced around. In fact Chatty and Bia are dancing to Elvis right now in their grass skirts!

Summer Time
Summer is coming to a close and Dee has tagged me ...
- Favorite Summer Cocktail: Ice Cold beer - Corona Light with a lime
- Favorite Summer Movie: This is hard ... I can't remember what I have seen on Netflix ...
- Favorite Summer Song: Anything by Buffet and/or Kenny Chesney
- Favorite Summer Time Outfit: Sundresses - though I don't own many; flip flops!
- Favorite Summer Reading: Coastal Living and Southern Living - wishing I owned a beach house! I have read several books this summer but none of them were fabulous - good but not fabulous.
- Favorite Summer Moment: Our trip to Florida - playing at the beach with the girls and Mr. ESPN
Honestly I am kind of glad summer is coming to a close - even though it will still be hot here in the desert for another 2 months ... plus it means Mr. ESPN and my anniversary is coming up - the big 11 year mark!
Now I have to tag some people ....
Cousin J - I know you were tagged by Dee too but I haven't seen a response yet!
